HERE IS WHAT WE ARE ASKING YOU TO DO: Read for your own enjoyment or read for others: Read to a child or to an elderly person. And if you want to do more:

Books Beyond
is a very cool operation to get involved with... It is an operation run by the Department of Corrections that allows inmates to choose from Books Beyond's books, then read and record their voice reading the book. The book and tape are then sent to the inmate's child(ren) to keep.

As a volunteer, you are asked to carry the books to the inmates; help them pick a book and help them prepare to read if they need assistance; conduct the taping, then place the books and tapes into envelopes and mail them.

(minimum age to volunteer = 18yrs)
